3D-printed fidget spinner with hex nut weights

A compact 3D-printed fidget spinner sized for younger kids, built around a 0.25″ shaft bearing and 3/8-16 hex nuts. Free 3D CAD files available.

Before creating my own design, I had successfully printed one of the many available Thingiverse fidget spinners. But the size was too large for my younger grandkids, so I designed my own smaller version.

I used a bearing measuring 0.25″ shaft with 0.625″ OD and 0.195″ thickness, plus three 3/8-16 tpi hex nuts (0.328″ thick, 0.551″ flat-to-flat) as the weighted tips.

Construction Notes

For assembly, I used my workshop vise to press the bearing and nuts into the fidget body. All three pieces are intentionally tight fits.

I’ve also uploaded STL files to Thingiverse if you’d like to customize the design further.
